In May, Year 9 and Year 10 began their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award preparation. From learning to read maps, to working out how to wear suitable trekking attire - to launching themselves into the wild on training sessions, they rose to the challenge.
The practice expedition took them to Heaven Farm in East Sussex, where the girls trekked for 6-7 hours a day through 26° sunshine. So many skills were strengthened: patience, determination, teamwork and leadership.
Then, in September, the girls had their assessed expedition. We were ready for a downfall of rain, as surely they couldn`t be lucky enough to get two heatwaves in a row? But what happened? 25°c in the Chilterns! The expedition ran smoothly, and it was brilliant to hear the girls’ reflections on the expedition and its value to them - a very happy group.
When the whoosh is louder than expected… Our Science Cadettes were amazed by the whoosh bottle experiment in today`s club!

Sixth Form English students experienced a gripping new stage adaptation of Dracula, written by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and directed by Emma Baggott at the the Lyric Theatre. This feminist retelling put Mina Harker at the centre of the story, blending striking visuals, live music, and a powerful reimagining of the Gothic classic.
Twelve pupils from Years 10 to 13 represented our school at the Alleyn’s National Model United Nations Conference in Dulwich, joining students from across London for a day of lively debate and diplomacy. They engaged with global issues, drafted resolutions, and celebrated outstanding achievements - with special congratulations to Jasmin (Commended) and Vicky (Highly Commended).
✨ Celebrating Diwali at QG ✨
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a time to celebrate joy, hope, and new beginnings.
We decorated the front of the school with beautiful diyas and colourful torans, and students got creative with diya painting - adding their own vibrant touch to the festivities.
The celebrations continued with a delicious lunch of navratan korma, butter chicken, basmati rice, naan, and crunchy poppadoms.
This afternoon, our Friday assembly was beautifully led by Alisha and Mishi, bringing the QG community together in the true spirit of Diwali.
