A Queen’s Gate alumna, Reica enjoyed a two-decade career in professional theatre, progressing from stage manager to director of a major London theatre chain. Later, she pursued her passion for English, completing a BA and MA, then going on to manage an Academic Writing Centre at the university’s School of Business and Law. A keen writer, she is completing a novel set in the world of early twentieth century music hall, due for publication later this year.
Paul started his career in international corporate tax at Arthur Andersen in 1996. For the last 25 years he has focussed on M&A, and the latter 20 specialising in restructuring, refinancing and corporate insolvency.
Outside of work, Paul has been heavily involved in domestic rowing; various administrative offices and several treasurer roles both locally and regionally, an event organiser, as well as a commentator at Henley Royal Regatta, and formerly a multi-lane umpire. Paul is currently a trustee of a West London rowing charity. Paul is also involved in the Livery, being a freeman of both the Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights and the Company of Watermen & Lightermen of the River Thames.
Paul lives in Wandsworth and has a MEng from Imperial College.
With a background of 30+ years in senior roles in education, Nicky was the Head of an all-through Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) boarding school, and Deputy of both a girls’ London day school and boarding school in Wiltshire. She was a member of the GSA governing council, chairing the GSA’s Professional Development Committee, an ISI inspector and a member of the BSA’s expert panel. Now a leadership development facilitator and coach, Nicky works with clients in a variety of different industries running leadership development programmes and coaching teams and individual leaders, and runs senior and middle leader group coaching programmes for the GSA. Nicky lives in London and enjoys the wide variety of artistic and cultural opportunities that brings.
Headmistress of Sarum Hall School with over 25 years’ experience in the independent sector since graduating from Exeter University with a BEd (Hons) degree in education. Having worked at Port Regis, Fulham Prep, Cheam and St George’s Weybridge, Karen has a long history of working with top senior schools to recommend them to her prep school parents. A serving Army Reserve Officer in the Intelligence Corps, Karen is also an accomplished swimmer, skier and tennis player so champions the importance of sport and working with others to achieve a collective goal.
Following her degree in English Literature, Carol headed to the Bar. Since being called to the Bar in 1996, Carol has practised from Littleton Chambers in London. She specialises in Employment litigation and professional discipline. She has a recognised expertise in discrimination law and high-value Employment Tribunal litigation, commercial employment matters in the High Court and regulatory work, with a particular emphasis on financial services, education, and healthcare. Carol was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in 2021. Carol lives in London with her husband, two daughters and an assortment of pets.
Shai began his career on the buyside at what is now JP Morgan AM, before moving to the sellside where he worked in several research roles. He was Head of Research at Macquarie Group for 10 years before founding lntegrum ESG in 2018. Shai has an M.A. in English from Cambridge University.
Clare grew up in France, returning to the UK for Sixth Form and University. She has a BA Hons in Modern Languages (French and Italian). She worked for 6 years in the Equities Division at Goldman Sachs, London, in sales and trading compliance. Clare and her Dutch husband are parents to 6 children. Their youngest daughter attends Queen’s Gate School and is currently in Lower Sixth. The family spent a total of 16 years living in Amsterdam, where Clare was actively involved in the children’s schools, in particular the International School of Amsterdam (ISA) where she served on the Board of Trustees from 2013–2016, (Board Secretary, Governance Chair) as well as running the PTA for a total of 4 years. In 2022, Clare spent 6 months working at ISA developing and implementing their staW Code of Conduct, and safeguarding policies, as well as overseeing and monitoring relevant staW safeguarding training including the use of the CPOMS platform.
Clare is passionate about education, with a strong interest in theatre. An avid sewer and designer, for the past 20 years, she has had a small business designing, making and sourcing costumes for school theatre productions. She has especially enjoyed working with Queen’s Gate Junior School since 2016 on their annual musical theatre production.
Simon lives in Barnes having spent his working life in London. His insolvency career spans 35+ years. He was President of the Insolvency Practitioners Association in 2007 / 2008 and is currently a Board Member. He has served on Menzies’ Management Committee and was the Managing Partner of the Business Recovery and then the Transaction Services team, which included Business Recovery, Forensic Services and Corporate Finance. He is the Immediate Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators. Historically, he was active within the Livery Schools Link Committee, developing close relationships with Clara Grant Primary School, delivering a financial literacy program. He is married to Amanda. They have been together for over 25 years and enjoy travelling, particularly scuba-diving adventures. Additionally, he enjoys cycling, skiing and camping, which have yet to appeal to Amanda!
