Senior School Enrichment

At Queen’s Gate our idea of education extends far beyond the classroom as we seek for all pupils to discover, develop and celebrate their broader gifts and talents.  Furthermore, we seek to ensure all girls have the opportunity to learn skills of teamwork and leadership, so that they are fully prepared for adult life.

Co-curricular programme

We offer a range of clubs that take place before and after school and at lunchtimes.

A variety of activities take place each day including Music and Sports clubs and practices, alongside other interests such as:

These clubs not only develop interests, but also enable the girls to meet and work with those in different years; it also gives them the opportunity to go outside or to visit one of the many excellent resources we have on our doorstep, for example the Science Museum, V&A and Natural History Museum.

Early morning sports clubs, which take place at 7am, are followed by breakfast in School and are very popular.

Leadership

We very much hope many of our girls will go on to pursue positions of leadership in their adult lives and be the game changers of their generation.  To prepare them for these opportunities, we provide a range of leadership positions:

School Committee Representatives: School Council, Food Committee, Environment Committee
Sports Captains
House Captains
Prefect roles
Leading charity events
Setting up and leading new clubs
Leading pupil publications

This list is not exhaustive, and the Principal is delighted to receive pupils with new suggestions.  This year alone the school has seen the institution of two new pupil newspapers.  School Council Representatives were invited to take part in the tender for our catering contract, providing feedback on sample dishes and meeting with staff from the various companies.
