Last week, our Year 12 Art Historians took their study of sculpture to the V&A, getting up close to works of art to explore sculptural techniques first-hand.

From the ancient world to Cambridge life 📚🏛️
Our pupils took their Classics learning beyond the classroom with a day in Cambridge, exploring the Museum of Classical Archaeology and the Fitzwilliam Museum, as well as getting a taste of university life at beautiful Newnham College.
A wonderful opportunity to see the subjects they study brought to life – and to experience one of the world’s great university cities along the way.

135 years of Queen’s Gate 💙🎉
Last Monday our whole school came together for a very special assembly to celebrate 135 years since Queen’s Gate first opened its doors in 1891.
It was a chance to look back at our remarkable history, celebrate the generations of girls who have been part of our story, and think about everything that makes Queen’s Gate so distinctive today.
A lot has changed since 1891, but our belief in giving girls the confidence to be themselves, think independently and follow their own path remains at the heart of Queen’s Gate.
Here’s to 135 years of doing things a little differently — and to the next chapter 💙

From Queen’s Gate to CNN, The Guardian and winning an Emmy 🎥📰🏆
We were delighted to welcome Queen’s Gate alumna and award winning journalist, Augusta Anthony back to QG to lead this week`s Wider World talk. The series gives our older pupils the opportunity to hear about different careers and the many paths their futures might take.
Augusta is Acting Social Platforms Editor at The Guardian and previously spent eight years at CNN, covering breaking news and overseeing the London bureau’s digital video team. During her time at CNN, she was part of an International Emmy Award-winning team for Outstanding Hard News Report: Long Form.
Augusta spoke to pupils about her journey from Queen’s Gate to the University of Edinburgh and Columbia Journalism School, and shared fascinating insights into journalism, digital media and working in an international newsroom.
It was particularly special to welcome Augusta back to Queen’s Gate to inspire the next generation of pupils following in her footsteps.
