Keeping In Touch With Our Age UK Friends!

Posted on 27 April 2020 by Miss Emily Acton-Edmiston

Age UK Kensington & Chelsea is a local charity in our borough of London, working to ensure that older people are supported by providing a wide range of services and activities to help tackle loneliness. Our partnership with them is something we cherish and every Thursday, during term time, we welcome their members to Queen’s Gate for lunch and sessions such as music, dance and art.

As our guests are not able to come into School at the moment and many of their home visits from volunteers have also had to stop due to the coronavirus pandemic, we think it is more important than ever to keep in touch! To stay in contact, a number of pupils have been sending our Age UK friends letters and postcards and a selection of Senior School staff and pupils also recorded a special video message to wish them well.

We were thrilled to hear back from our Age UK representative, who told us that the girls had ‘touched their hearts’ with their messages.

We look forward to welcoming all of our Age UK friends back to Queen’s Gate as soon as we can!
