In the Jungle the Mighty Jungle…

Posted on 12 March 2017 by Miss Amy Hinds, Communications Officer

This year’s Remove Showcase took place on Friday 10 March, where the audience was transported to the ranforest. The featured music for this year was Yanomamo, by Peter Rose and Anne Conlonwhich featured a mix of upbeat songs, such as The Monkey’s Tale, and slower pieces including The Sad Land, with girls showed off their beautiful voices through large and small group work, as well as solos.

The performance saw girls undertake LAMDA pieces, a Latin Play, and the Queen’s Gate Challenge presentation, amongst other action-packed sketches. A new addition to this year’s Showcase was a debate between six girls, with the motion, ‘This House would end deforestation in the rainforest immediately’. After some compelling arguments, the vote was put to the floor.

A huge thanks goes to Mr Denchfield, Miss Hurlbatt, Mr Liepa, Ms Sansun and Mrs Mailley-Smith for their hard work in preparing girls for this year’s Showcase.
