Our pastoral organisation helps us to know each girl as an individual. Much time is spent at all levels in giving guidance and encouragement. Our Learning Support teacher is a valuable member of our team, offering support, teaching and advice where needed.
Each pupil is a member of a Form and meets with her Form Tutor or deputy each morning, afternoon and end of day. We also operate a system of Heads of Sections. Our Heads of Remove, Lower School and Upper School oversee progress and the general well-being of the girls in their care.
Girls belong to one of our four Houses which allows them to meet and work with other year groups. Charitable events, sporting competitions and other school activities are organised on a House basis.
We welcome girls of all denominations. Assemblies are held three times a week. We believe this offers all girls something of value and an opportunity for reflection. The readings, prayers and music are drawn from a variety of sources, with individuals and forms often involved in presenting assemblies.
There are many opportunities for girls to take on responsibility as Heads of Form, in House positions, as Games Captains and in other School appointments. We have a Head Girl, Deputy Head Girls, Senior Prefect and other Prefects to whom are allocated a range of responsibilities for assemblies, the environment, events, library and ICT.
Girls in the Lower Sixth may train as mentors and buddies to girls in the Lower Forms, thus providing valued support to younger pupils; or they may become involved in the organisation of school events such as Wider World, Music or clubs for others in the School Community.
