Queen's Gate School

QG Society

The Queen's Gate Society is the new name of the Queen’s Gate Old Girls’ Association, which has been re-launched to include not only former pupils but also their parents, former staff and friends of the school.

The Society exists to:

  • Foster social contact among members of all ages
  • Allow networking amongst ourselves
  • Host a range of events each year
  • Support the work of the school today and in the future

Membership is free, being sponsored by the school, and everyone who has studied or taught at the school is automatically a member. The Log is sent to recent leavers and to those who request it and an annual Newsletter and Review of the Year keep members up to date with recent news. There is an annual Autumn party at the school and Old Girls are informed of whole-school events such as the Christmas Fair, the Carol Service and the School Play.

Anyone who would like to play an active role is especially welcome; year contacts are needed for the very recent past and for the 1960s and before. If you volunteer, you will be asked to collect and send in news of your year (and any others) annually, to encourage your contemporaries to come to the annual party and to pass on any comments you may receive/hear concerning the Queen's Gate Society or the school.

You may also like to apply to join the Steering Group, which consists of the Chief Executive Officer, the Social organisers (responsible for parties) and a limited number of Year representatives. The Steering Group meets at the school twice a year.

To receive mailings and invitations and register your details, please contact Elizabeth de Leeuw using the QG Society enquiry form.
